Jono Cooper
BVMedSci BVM BVS MRCVS
Born and raised in West Berkshire, Jono’s love for farming was instilled into him while milking cows alongside his Dad as soon as he was tall enough to put on a cluster! Thanks to the support of both his parents, Jono gained a place in the first year of students accepted to the University of Nottingham’s Vet School. Upon graduation he moved straight into farm practice, developing the necessary practical skills to get you out of any tricky situation, but also feeding his interest in herd level medicine.
In 2013 a position at Minster Vets in York offered him the opportunity to further develop his knowledge of population medicine by combining farm and poultry work, learning from some of the best poultry vets in Europe. This time laid the foundations for the development of his affinity for gamebird medicine.
In 2017 Jono returned home to take a more active role on the farm. Using the grazing infrastructure already in place at the farm from the dairy herd, Jono and his father worked to improve the efficiency of their native herd of beef cattle utilising a rotational grazing system, giving him first hand experience of the realities of putting theory into practice!
Jono’s main interest lies in understanding the goals of any given farming system, and working alongside his client to improve the efficiency of this system as in every case, this will improve the health and welfare of his patients.

Sophie Wilson
BVMedSci BVM BVS MA MRCVS
Sophie grew up locally on a mixed farm, and despite spending too much ‘revision’ time in the lambing sheds managed to gain a degree in Biological Sciences from Oxford University in 2011. She went on from here to spend 3 years with FAI Farms, providing knowledge transfer on sustainability in agricultural systems. This included working with some major processors and retailers, and on the development of the Five Point Plan for sheep lameness.
However, the desire to keep learning and spend more time out and about led her up to vet school at the University of Nottingham. Sophie qualified in 2019, and later that year won the Dairy Vet of the Future award for her project on dairy lameness. Since graduating, Sophie has since split her time between farm practice and the farming business that she runs in partnership with her husband, Dai. This includes contract farming a 270 cow spring calving dairy unit and a flock of outdoor lambing ewes.
Sophie has specific expertise in organic and low input systems, including block calving, grazing management and outwintering. She particularly enjoys using data to improve decision making on farm - be that herd health, grazing management or financial information.

Cam Collins
BVM&S MRCVS
Cam was born and raised in Northumberland, attending school in Newcastle before heading
up to complete his studies at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Sciences in Edinburgh.
He graduated in 2017 and returned to Northumberland to work in farm practice. During this time he developed a keen interest in beef and sheep health planning, productivity and disease prevention strategies. Busy calving and lambing seasons also inspired an enjoyment of emergency medicine and surgery.
Whilst continuing with clinical practice, Cam enrolled with Aberystwyth University in 2020 to undertake a Masters degree in sustainable and efficient food production; expanding his knowledge in the development of strategies to improve the efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of ruminant production.
Cam joined CW Farm Vets in late 2021 looking to bring the knowledge gained both up North and with his ongoing further studies to the team here.

Sabina Richardson
Veterinary Technician and ATT
Sabina grew up in Oxfordshire and has spent the past 7 years breeding pure breed poultry in West Berkshire. She enjoys all aspects of farm work, particularly poultry, sheep, and cattle.
With the ongoing threats of Avian Flu, Sabina decided to retrain, enabling her to continue working on farms. In 2022 started training as an ATT (Approved Tuberculin Tester) and in January 2023 qualified.
Sabina is now going out on farms TB testing cows and learning other Vet Tech skills such as blood sampling, mobility scoring, disbudding, and proactive TB control.

Tom Hewitt
BVSc MRCVS
Tom was born in Bristol and grew up in North Somerset. He studied up at Liverpool university, mostly because of the football team. He worked with Farm vets in Cornwall during busy spring placements and enjoyed emergency work.
After graduating in 2022, he took a job in Powys as a mixed Vet. Here, he developed an interest in flock health and emergency work during a busy calving and lambing season. He also developed an interest in dairy fertility through routine visits to year round calving herds.
Tom joined the CW team in November 2023, and aims to further build on reproductive veterinary work. He looks forward to working alongside farmers in order to improve the productivity and welfare of their stock. Outside of work, you'll find him fishing on a lake or playing in goal for a local Football team.
